Communication skills of pupils with a different mother tongue in the primary school

The aim of the thesis "Language skills of pupils with different mother tongue in primary school" is to analyse the language skills of pupils of younger school age with different mother tongue. Together with the sub-linguistic skills, the present thesis focuses mainly on the pragmatic linguistic level, within which the use of language skills in a social context is evaluated. The theoretical part of the thesis consists of the first three chapters. The introduction defines the concepts of communication, language and speech, communicative competence and bilingualism. The second chapter is devoted to the specifics of adaptation and acquisition of Czech as a second language by pupils with a different mother tongue. The possibilities of language diagnostics are also presented in this chapter. Finally, the education of this group in the domestic school system is characterised together with selected organisations dedicated to supporting pupils with a different mother tongue. A research sample of six informants from two mainstream primary schools was selected for the practical part of the thesis. The preparedness of kindergarten teachers for the child with a different mother tongue

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to figure out how kindergarten teachers are prepared for working with children of a foreign mother tongue. The theoretical part deals with the explanation of who a child with a foreing mother tongue is and with other topics related. Further on, the theoretical part is devoted to the adaptation and inclusion of children who speak a foreign mother tongue into a kindergarten and their linguistic development. The practical part describes and evaluates the qualitative research. The method used was an interview. Kindergarten teachers in České Budějovice, who have had experience with children speaking a foreign mother tongue within the collective of a Czech kindergarten, were interviewed.
Children with foreign language in Czech kindergartens

The bachelor thesis is focused on the inclusion of children with different native language in Czech kindergartens. The aim of the thesis is to analyze the adaptation process and the conditions for succesful inclusion in specific cases. The theoretical part is focused on defining terms such as conception of preschool child, preschool education, its goals, developmental characteristics of preschool child, speech development, the concept of children with different native language and bilingualism. The theoretical part also provides an insight into the legislative anchorage of education of children with different native langugage in preschool and inclusive education. The theoretical part describes adaptation and inclusion of the child with different native language in kindergarten, the adaptation plan and the cooperation with parents. It also considers support options for children with different native language to help them with learning the Czech language. Finally, the last part is focused on the role of the teacher and methodological recommendations. The practical part consists of case studies. The method of interview with parents of children with different native language, interview with kindergarten teachers, and the method of direct and participant observation is applied. The research uncovers the problems and examples of good practice that have emerged in specific cases.
Specifics of teachers' approach to mother tongue of children with different mother tongue in the pre-school education

The bachelor's thesis deals with the issue of children with different mother tongues in kindergarten. The aim of the thesis is to find out how teachers approach the mother tongue of a child with a different mother tongue. The theoretical part introduces the reader to preschool education in the Czech Republic, the tools of inclusive education in kindergartens and the specifics of educating a child with a different mother tongue. The practical part maps, through mixed research, the approach of teachers to the mother tongue of a child with a different mother tongue, the level of its use in preschool education and its development in the child's home environment. Furthermore, it researches methods of communication between teachers and the child's parents and the child's communication in the kindergarten environment, support of the child's communication with peers, possibilities of Czech language development in children in kindergarten and the level of use of support measures.
Development of children's communication skills with different Mother Tongues in pre-school education

This bachelor thesis focuses on analyzing methods of speech development skills of kids with different mother languages in preschool education. Main goal of this thesis is to get knowledge applicable in work with kids with different mother language and in developing their communication skills. Theoretical part is based on information from proffesional literature, current legislation and electronic information sources which desrcibe definitions of terms communication, speech and language, ontogenesis of child's speech till preschool age and specifics of bilingual child's speech development. In this thesis is also a describtion of Czech preschool education system and it is focused on a group of kids with different mother languages. The empiric part is processed in the form of qualitative research. The case study desrcibes development of communication skills of three kids with different mother language and the methods that are used.
Issue of Integration of Foreign Pupils with Focusing on Their Origin Country

The aim of this thesis is to analyze and evaluate the current situation of the integration in the Czech education system focusing on the issues and specifics inclusion of foreign pupils and on consideration of the impact of pupils' country of origin on the process. The theoretical part of diploma thesis mentions the reasons for the integration of foreigners. Moreover, it highlights why and from where they are coming to the Czech Republic. It captures the current legislation and the rights of foreigners who want to settle permanently in the Czech Republic. Further, it shows the analysis of different ways of educating pupils with special needs, the placement of foreign pupils at Czech elementary schools and intercultural differences, which may have impact on pupils' integration. The practical part focuses on comparing the available theoretical knowledge and the everyday reality of Czech teachers who teach foreign pupils and can work on their daily practice. Based on the comparison of theoretical and practical knowledge the author explains the personal point of view on the integration of foreign pupils and suggests some ideas how to overcome mentioned shortcomings....
